Why can’t your body make vitamins?

This is an interesting question whose answer is easy to comprehend. Since we can never synthesise vitamins or can only do so in amounts that are unable to meet our needs, they must be consumed from the diet or from some laboratory source, hence vitamins are named essential nutrients. Since the body very simply cannot make many of the vitamins it needs, a good multivitamin is essential. If a vitamin is missing from the diet or is not sufficiently absorbed by an organism, a deficiency disease may develop or the individual may feel tired, irritable and not be as mentally focused.

To use a car analogy as an example, consider that you only get one body, but you can always buy a new car. Think of your body as a well constructed machine, with hundreds of thousands of interlocking parts, bolts and bolts if you will, that all assist each other and work together to tirelessly sustain life on a daily basis. This, at least in a simplified way, is how your body works, but we all know the kinds of harmful effects that malnutrition, disease and injury can have on a person.

When your body lacks the necessary raw ingredients it needs to operate properly, a cascading effect occurs that affects every one of your body’s systems and causes them to operate poorly or even cease functioning altogether. Taking supplemental vitamins is akin to using sport performance fuel for your car, only many times better and far less expensive. Your body runs more robustly and is able to better avoid breaking down and disease. Your immune system works better, your thinking clears and your body runs better when it has the vital nutrients it needs. Unfortunately a side effect of our diet means that millions of people every day are lacking the most basic nutrition warranted, let alone getting optimum nutrition levels.

There are two groups of essential vitamins, each classified according to the materials in which they dissolve.
Water-soluble vitamins dissolve in water, are not stored and are extricated regularly in urine. We need a continuous supply of these vitamins. The water-soluble vitamins are Vitamin C and the B-complex group. Water-soluble vitamins are very easily destroyed or removed during food refridgeration or preparing. To decrease vitamin loss, refrigerate fresh food, and retain grains away from hot light.

A, D, E and K, dissolve in fat before they are absorbed in the blood and are kept in the liver.
An essential point to note is that we unarguably need vitamins, to function effectively and be fit. Our bodies cannot make many of the vitamins that we require on a daily basis. We must find them in our diet, and by eating a multivitamin supplement.
